Shauna Ricketts is a creative and resourceful relationship specialist and project manager. Skilled in storytelling and film production, Shauna utilizes her sociology and political science background to build brand strategy, design media materials and communicate with stakeholders.​

 

Shauna is passionate about climate and communities which can be seen in her current role as an Outreach and Engagement Specialist for the Department of Energy. In August 2024, she facilitated Tribal Consultations in Anchorage, Alaska for the United States Critical Mineral Mining Report. In addition, she served as a Manager for New York City's first Youth Climate Corps. Shauna has a strong sense of story and impact as seen in her work as an Associate Producer on the films After the Bite (HBO) and Instant Life (A24).  She was the recipient of a 2018-19 Fulbright U.S. Student Program Award and operated as an English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Pravets, Bulgaria through the America for Bulgaria Foundation. She was selected to attend the 65th Annual Berlin Seminar in Germany that focused on media literacy. 

 

Shauna studied Sociology, Political Science and Urban Studies at the State University of New York at Geneseo. She served as an Art Gallery Coordinator and Founder/Director of the CHROMATIC Visual Arts Society at Geneseo. Shauna was one of fifteen seniors, to be named a Presidential Scholar by the College for the 2017-18 academic year. She was the recipient of a Geneseo Foundation Undergraduate Research Grant to pursue her directed study research, entitled Regenerative Design in New York City.  In addition, Shauna worked on campus as an Assistant Resident Director, Resident Assistant, Sociology Teaching Assistant (TA) for two courses and a tutor for both the Sociology Department and the Access Opportunity Program (AOP). Her creative and academic works have been published in The Gandy Dancer, The Political Realm, and on The Museum of Motherhood website. Her ethnographic work and photography was featured in ungleich magazin, an international art magazine produced by German artists and writers.
